A celebration of connection and peace in the skies above Feldkirch.
The FLYING UDDER elevation invited children and adults to experience themselves as part of a larger, living community. The city of Feldkirch and the artist thus set a visible sign of connection and togetherness.
Die EUTER-Erhebung lud Kinder und Erwachsene ein, sich als Teil einer größeren, lebendigen Gemeinschaft zu erfahren. Die Stadt Feldkirch und die Künstlerin setzten damit ein sichtbares Zeichen für Verbundenheit und Miteinander.
To celebrate the 1ooth anniversary of the unification of the surrounding communities into the city of Feldkirch, the social sculpture FLYING UDDER by Barbara Husar ascended into the sky on May 9, 2025: a hot air balloon shaped like a pink cow udder lifted together with 100 children. The udder, a source of nourishment and a symbol of care, becomes a sign of a new relationship between humans, animals, and nature in Husar's work.Her art serves as a catalyst for social dialogue and a respectful approach to our living network.
Zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum der Vereinigung der Feldkircher Ortsteile mit der Innenstadt erhob sich am 9. Mai 2025 die soziale Skulptur EUTER von Barbara Husar in den Himmel: ein Heißluftballon in Form eines pinken Kuheuters, gemeinsam mit 100 Kindern. Das Euter, Ursprung des Nährens und Symbol für Fürsorge, wird bei Husar zum Zeichen für eine neue Beziehung zwischen Mensch, Tier und Natur. Ihre Kunst versteht sich als Impulsgeberin für gesellschaftlichen Dialog und einen respektvollen Umgang mit unserem Lebensnetzwerk.

The social sculpture FLYING UDDER by Austrian artist Barbara Husar powerfully reveals what fundamentally connects us as mammals: the primal source of nourishment and care. The monumental cow-udder balloon calls on us to fundamentally rethink our relationship with nature and animals - moving away from exploitation toward respectful and mindful coexistence.
This dynamic artwork creates an open space for social dialogue. The performative actions between heaven and earth. The so-called FLYING UDDER-Elevations are always tied to socially relevant occasions and individually attuned to them. These situational components foster consciousnessshift and emotional healing by making clear our role as an integral part of a living ecosystem.

Die soziale Skulptur EUTER der österreichischen Künstlerin Barbara Husar offenbart eindrucksvoll, was uns als Säugetiere fundamental verbindet: die Urquelle des Nährens und der Fürsorge. Der monumentale Kuheuter-Ballon fordert dazu auf, unsere Beziehung zu Natur und Tieren grundlegend zu überdenken - weg von Ausbeutung hin zu einem respektvollen, achtsamen Miteinander. Dieses dynamische Kunstwerk schafft einen offenen Raum für gesellschaftlichen Dialog. Die performativen Aktionen zwischen Himmel und Erde, die sogenannten EUTER-Erhebungen, sind stets an gesellschaftsrelevante Anlässe gebunden und individuell darauf abgestimmt. Diese situativen Komponenten fördern Bewusstseinswandel und emotionale Heilung, indem sie unsere Rolle als integralen Bestandteil eines lebendigen Ökosystems verdeutlichen. Barbara Husars soziale Skulptur steht exemplarisch für einen evolutiven Bewusstseinssprung, der den Menschen neu positioniert und einen Wendepunkt in unserer Haltung zur Natur markiert.
