On the personal recommendation of Daniel Spoerri I read the biography of Alexander von Humboldt. His phenomenal spirit, his ability to lead and connect had penetrated me so unexpectedly, that for the first time I felt the need to portray a human being. Dinosaurs, cows, frogs, trilobites, meteorites ... the whole keyboard of evolution already took its place in my studios. [...] and then there started a relationship between me and this man.
Auf persönliche Empfehlung von Daniel Spoerri las ich in den Rauhnächten 2017 die Biografie von Alexander von Humboldt. Sein phänomenaler Geist, seine Leit- und Verbindungsfähigkeit hatten mich derartig durchdrungen, daß ich in mir das erste Mal das Bedürfnis verspürte, einen Menschen zu porträtieren . Dinos, Kühe, Frösche, Trilobiten, Meteoriten ... die gesamte Klaviatur der Evolution gab sich schon ein Stell dich ein in meinen Ateliers. [...] und dann begann eine Beziehung zwischen mir und diesem Mann.
